An Excellent Learning Opportunity

Yesterday, the Brewers played in a do-or-die playoff game. It started out great with solid defense in the first inning. Unfortunately, the Dbacks also had great defense. In fact, I don't think either team scored until the 3rd inning. When the scoring started it came quickly with the backs going up 4-0. Then, when the game could have been over the coaches decided that an extra inning would be ok. Our Brewers were pretty dejected and certain that they would lose, but things started to come together. David got a great single to start off the final inning. Neither Zane nor I can really remember the details that well, but we remember Mick getting an awesome double and Jad hitting the game winning RBI bringing David in.

I've never seen my son that excited before. All the kids were grinning ear to ear as if they had just won the World Series. It was a pretty awesome moment. The next game is tomorrow. I'm hoping Zane has a better game all around. The poor guy was hit in the eye with a missed pop fly catch and had his glove hit off his hand from catching too close to the batter. He's ok though.
